redize_
Redize is the collaborative duo of Bryan Patrick (Mage) and Isaac Keare (IFK). Redize have played alongside a laundry list of international talent ranging from Joey Beltram and Stewart Walker to Mark EG and Stacey Pullen.
Together they combine their respective love of Chicago house, minimal electronics and dirty Milwaukee techno into their all-hardware live performance as well as their studio productions. Their sound has been described as everything from “bump bump digital” to “an Atari on crack” to “a giant time-traveling robot hell-bent on feeding you the music of the future, today“. They’ve played at legendary events such as Even Furthur and Live on the Decks as well as countless underground parties and have been forging their own style of original electronic music for over 5 years. They still receive regular requests while performing for Usher or Lords of Acid.
ifk_
has been a musician all his life and can perform a backflip on command. He is comfortable behind analog stringed instruments as well as his digital noise makers and has been DJing regularly for over 5 years, currently holding a monthly residency at Goodbar in Chicago. Growing up in chicagoland, he was deeply influenced by early Chicago house and brings those roots to both his DJ sets and redize. Along with Mage and the dedicated crew of Force Vibrations, he helped bring techno to the hinterland with the highly successful “Frequency” parties of Eau Claire, WI.
bryan patrick aka mage_
bryan patrick aka mage is a Milwaukee native, likes penguins, and gets far too little sleep. He can often be heard taking the road less traveled, with his DJ sets of glitchy house and minimal techno. He’s played throughout the Midwest for over 7 years under the pseudonym mage and is one half of redize, currently DJing sporadically throughout Chicago, with regular guest appearances in Milwauke and Minneapolis.
Always the wannabe artist, bryan patrick has also been seen under the alias Boyan Links, playing at various art galleries across Wisconsin. Check out the slew of exclusive mp3s Bryan has posted in the audio section...
popkan_
Born in the same city that is known for its hot dogs and house music, Tom Erdmann aka Popkan has been quietly putting together an archive of brilliance. Through his careful and intelligent drum structuring, Popkan dares to go where few have gone before. Combining bits, bleeps, squeaks and yes, pop cans, Thomas creates a hybrid of glitch, dub, acidfunk and minimal madness. Equipped with what has lovingly been dubbed the “Korg Frankenstein” and a buck wild stage presence, the Popkan PA makes for a truly electrifying live performance. He began taking an interest to electronic dance music after witnessing Green Velvet and others at local underground parties on Chicago’s southside.'I started making electronic music when I was 16. It wasn’t until I witnessed an awe inspiring live performance by Matthew Herbert that changed everything. It was something totally different from what I was used to seeing in Chicago.' Popkan has performed throughout Chicagoland with artists such as Luomo(Vladislav Delay), Billy Dallessandro, Someone Else and Green Velvet. Already producing mind bending tracks and only barely able to buy a drink we expect big things from this guy. Look for his debut on Micromusik02(bryan patrick v popkan).
